Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist is an author. She is co-founder of The Huffington Post the founder and CEO of Thrive Global and the author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington, an independent Liberal news site and a TV host an author and philanthropist. Born in Greece and immigrated to England at age sixteen. In Cambridge University, she graduated with an MA of Economics. It was her first time as a student from outside the UK to serve as president of The Cambridge Union at the age of 21. Following graduation, she left her name as an independent syndicated columnist, and, with the advent of The Huffington Post' few months later, she created an online voice platform that provided critical views on the political scenario. The fame of her name helped in bringing on a host of well-known contributors to share their opinions about news from the world of politics and culture. Arianna gained fame following her decision to be independently in the California recall election in order to replace then Governor Davis. Apart from this she also directed the Detroit initiative to encourage fuel efficient cars. Forbes listed her as the 12th most influential female on the planet in 2009 and Guardian also included her on the list of Top 100 media the same year. AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post, and she was made president of this media group. It included a variety of AOL brands at that time, including Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. Elli was the son of Konstantinos journalist, and a management consultant. She was very close with her father. It was her relationship to her mother that formed her. While in her formative period, she displayed the qualities of a leader for which are still in high demand. At the age of 16 she started her studies in the United Kingdom at Girton College Cambridge. She joined in the Cambridge Union college debate society as a student as she was the 3rd and only female who was elected president. Her graduation was in 1972 and she earned an MA in Economics. After her graduation she worked as a columnist critic and hosting a show on TV. Her appearance on Face the music with Bernard Levin was also noteworthy. She began to write books with his guidance to edit.
