Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist is an author. She is a co-founder of The Huffington Post the founder and chief executive officer of Thrive Global and the author of 15 books. Arianna Huffington is a journalist, TV personality as well as a philanthropist, author and journalist for more than 10 years. Her role also includes being the owner of The Huffington Post, an free-of-cost online news magazine. Originally from Greece she moved to England when she was 16 and was able to graduate from Cambridge University with an MA in Economics. She was the first student from outside the UK to serve as president of The Cambridge Union at the age of 21. Her success as a columnist of the conservative side was confirmed after she finished her degree. After the launch of The Huffington Post a few years later, she created an online platform for voice that gave critical opinions on the political situation. She was able to get many prominent contributors to share their views about politics and culture. Arianna was famous in 2003 when she ran as an independent in the California recall election to succeed Governor Davis. Alongside this she was the leader of the Detroit Project for fuel-efficient cars. Forbes placed her at 12 on its list for the Most influential women in the media. Guardian also included the Huffington Post in their Top 100 list in 2010. AOL Inc. named her president of their media division in 2011 following the bought The Huffington Post. The Huffington Post was joined by other AOL brands such as Engadget AOLmusic Style list as well as Patch Media. Their parents are Elli and Konstantinos Stasinopoulos. They were a management consultant and journalist. While she was close with her father, the relationship she had with her mother shaped the course of her entire life. She showed leadership traits from the beginning. When she was 16, she moved from the United States to the United Kingdom and enrolled Girton College Cambridge. While in college she was a member of the college debate society Cambridge Union where she became the first foreign and third female president. She graduated in 1972 with an advanced degree in Economics. After after graduation she was a critic columnist and television host. Alongside Bernard Levin she appeared on the show Face the music.
