Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin was born in the city of Winnipeg, but was raised in Wellington. She made her acting debut as Flora McGrath in The romantic-drama film The Piano. Paquin is a Canadian as well as a New Zealand-born actress. Born in Winnipeg however, she was raised in Wellington, she made her first acting appearance on screen in The Piano. In this romance film, at the age of the age of 11, Paquin won her second Oscar for Best Actress. Anna Paquin full name Anna Helene Paquin was born on July 24 in 1982 in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada. Canadian-born New Zealand actor who won the Academy Award as a youngster in the category of Best Supporting actress for portraying the bright and curious child of Holly Hunter's lead part in The Piano. When she answered an open call for auditions to play the character, she got it as Flora McGrath, the daughter of a deaf Scottish piano player who moved into New Zealand in mid-19th-century to get married. The actress was just nine years old and did not have any acting experience. At the age of a teen, her family moved from Canada and eventually to United States. Paquin was the main character in the film Fly Away Home in 1996 and also had a small part in the film as Jane Eyre when she was just a young child. Paquin was a part-time actress in the 1997 TV movie adaption of Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding. The actress also played the Princess of Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (2007). The actress played teens in the films of Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000), A Walk on the Moon (2000) and portrayed in the role of character of the polexia Aphrodisa girl as part of Almost Famous (2000).
