Anna Paquin was born in the city of Winnipeg, but was raised in Wellington. She made her acting debut as Flora McGrath in The romantic-drama film The Piano. Paquin was the main character in the film Fly Away Home in 1996 and also had a small part in the film as Jane Eyre when she was just a young child. Paquin was a part-time actress in the 1997 TV movie adaption of Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding. The actress also played the Princess of Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (2007). The actress played teens in the films of Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000), A Walk on the Moon (2000) and portrayed in the role of character of the polexia Aphrodisa girl as part of Almost Famous (2000).
